Protect Aid Workers

"Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."

Mission

The Stephen D. Vance Foundation was created to advance the cause of humanitarian aid workers and their protection. The Foundation is dedicated to the many committed individuals who risk their own lives while working to improve the living conditions of others in war-torn, economically desolated or otherwise devastated areas of the world.

Every year, dozens of documented deaths of aid workers are reported, and many more are not. Stephen's November 2008 assassination in Peshawar, Pakistan ignited the consciousness of his colleagues, friends, and family who understand the need to improve the safety and security of aid workers worldwide.
